L-Erythrulose is a natural self-tanning agent. It achieves a tanning effect by undergoing the Maillard reaction with amino acids in the skin's stratum corneum to produce melanoidins. When compounded with the traditional tanning agent DHA (1,3-Dihydroxyacetone), it can promote DHA to produce a darker and more evenly distributed color, making the tanning effect more natural and long-lasting. Meanwhile, it is also an excellent anti-glycation ingredient that can inhibit the glycation of collagen, thereby reducing wrinkles, combating aging, and brightening skin tone. Additionally, L-Erythrulose has moisturizing and antioxidant properties, so it is widely used in skincare products such as sunscreen, self-tanning, anti-glycation, and anti-aging products.
